About Equi Aqua
Our story
Equi Aqua was born from something many riders and grooms will recognize: arranging water at competitions is often a hassle. Buckets get knocked over, the tap is far away, or you are left wondering if the water is clean enough.
Especially during multi-day events, you don’t want to worry about this. You already have enough on your mind.
Because I am active in equestrian sports myself and kept running into this issue, I started developing a solution that actually works.
Something sturdy, easy to transport, hygienic and above all reliable. This is how Equi Aqua was created: an automatic system that provides horses with clean, fresh drinking water, wherever you are.
Right now, we are fully testing the first models. Equi-Aqua is already being used in practice across different disciplines, both nationally and internationally.
For example, international dressage rider Hennie Roffel, who works at Ted Kop Jansen Friesian Horses, is testing the system in dressage. And in driving sports, it is being tested by none other than Martin Hölle, the reigning world champion.
Their experiences and feedback are incredibly valuable and help us fine-tune the system to meet the daily needs of the sport.
Equi Aqua is still in development, but the feedback so far is very promising. The goal is clear: less worry, less carrying heavy buckets, and always good water for your horse, so you can focus on what really matters.
About me
My name is Nikki Radstake. From a young age, I have been active in equestrian sports, first as an enthusiast and later also professionally.
Over the years, I have been involved in different aspects of the sport, from riding to working behind the scenes at major events.
This experience has not only taught me a lot about horses themselves but also about everything that comes with it.
Especially when it comes to care and practical matters during competitions, I noticed that there is still much to improve and gain.
During multi-day events, I saw how much unnecessary time and energy often goes into something as simple as providing water.
Buckets get knocked over, horses step into them, and the water is not always clean or fresh. On top of that, FEI regulations are becoming stricter when it comes to hygiene and welfare.
And rightly so, because water quality has a direct impact on a horse’s health and performance.
For me, Equi Aqua is more than just a product. It is a solution I personally missed in practice, and I hope it will now help other riders and grooms to make their work easier, safer and more enjoyable.
My goal is simple: to contribute to better care, fewer worries at competitions, and more peace of mind for both horse and rider.
Equi Aqua Product information
Equi Aqua is a mobile and smart water system that you can easily install in a temporary stable, for example at a multi-day event. The system consists of a water tank and a separate drinking bowl, which are connected to each other.
Installation is simple and requires no tools or complicated steps. You hang the water tank on the outside of the stable, with the mounting bracket easily placed over the top edge or railing of the stall. Inside the stable, you attach the drinking bowl where the water bucket or feed trough would normally be placed. Then you connect the tank and the bowl with a hose, which ensures a steady supply of water.
The drinking bowl is equipped with a float system that automatically refills as soon as the water level drops. Your horse does not need to push against a paddle or nipple to drink, which allows for calmer and more natural drinking behavior.
Inside the system, there is a special filter that stops dirt such as dust, straw and hay from entering. This keeps the water clean and clear. If you use warm water, you can easily add electrolytes to support your horse’s recovery or to help during hot weather. This makes the system not only practical but also highly functional for sports.
After use, it is important to clean the system thoroughly. After each event, you flush it out, clean the components and also rinse the filters to prevent blockages. Everything is designed to be cleaned with a biodegradable cleaning product, making it safe for the horse and environmentally friendly.
This system is made for riders and grooms who take their work seriously. No half solutions, but a smart and safe way to provide your horse with reliable drinking water anywhere, with minimal effort.
